Welcome to our third instalment of ‘Meeting the Team!’
Today we have our fantastic marketing team. The team cover a variety of roles within marketing from product photographers and copy writers all the way up to head of marketing roles. The three consultants we’ll be meeting today are Jack who covers Leicester and Northampton, Lauren who covers Nottingham and Derby and James who heads up the team.
So, lets get started…
Question: What is your background?
Jack: I have nearly 2 years of experience as a recruiter, but I recently returned from 2 years teaching English abroad.
Lauren: I’ve got nearly a year of recruitment experience with Distinct, prior to this I worked in Marketing for 8 years.
James: I previously played football for the mighty Scunthorpe United!
Question: If you were a crayon, what colour would you be?
Jack & James: Red.
Question: What is your favourite place in the world?
Lauren: My home.
James: Florence, Italy.
Jack: Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta
Question: If you were having a celebrity dinner party – who would you invite first?
Jack: Genghis Khan – the guy went from having one small village to the biggest empire ever in like 30 years… gangster.
Lauren: Richard Branson.
James: Mohammed Ali.
Question: What is the first job you ever had?
Lauren: I was a Sales Assistant at Debenhams.
Jack: I sold Pukka Pies at Forest – yes, I did wear a hat and a bright orange polo.
Question: What is your perfect Saturday night?
James: A barbecue in the sun with family and friends.
Lauren: On the sofa, with a Chinese and a movie.
Question: What is your biggest achievement?
Lauren: My children.
James: Marrying my wife, like Az I am seriously punching!
Jack: I decided to fly to Greece when the refugee crisis started in Europe and worked at a refugee camp in Lesvos.
Question: What is your all-time favourite song?
James: Miguel – Adorn.
Jack: Atomic Kitten – Whole Again.
Lauren: Whitney Houston – I Wanna Dance With Somebody.
Question: If you could pick your last meal what would it be?
James: It’s got to be Chinese.
Jack: Steak & Chips.
Question: What do you love about the discipline you work in?
James: We work with some great characters in an ever-changing industry.
Lauren: I love working with creative individuals, hearing about the brands they’ve worked with and the campaigns they’ve worked on is really fascinating!
Jack: The creativity of and the diversity of the people I meet every day.
