Procurement Manager (indirect spend)
£45,000 - £50,000
Chesterfield - Permanent
Posted: 3 weeks ago
Does the same weekly procurement routine leave you feeling unfulfilled?
Are you yearning for a fresh challenge that will put the spring back in your step?
A Chesterfield based services business is looking for their first ever Procurement Manager.
You’re not stepping into a role that has already been defined. Quite the opposite. The business has never had a procurement department before.
Having grown organically and through acquisition, there’s a need to create and manage a procurement function that delivers a contracts database, contract uniformity, cost savings / avoidance, and centralised spend management.
The good news is you’ll be left to do this as you see fit. You’ll have support and sponsorship from senior stakeholders including Directors, so you won’t be isolated.
A wide range of indirect categories are covered including utilities, cleaning, IT and software services, legal, and office supplies.
Operating across 50+ offices across in UK, harmonising spend has never been done meaning there’s massive opportunity to create efficiencies and utilise purchasing power.
There will be a 12-18 month period of creating and developing a procurement function before it becomes a ‘maintain and marginal gain’ role. Perfect if you’re a Senior Buyer looking to step up and do make a name for yourself.
Alternatively, if you’re an experienced Procurement Manager, you’ll have the great challenge of creating a procurement function from scratch and managing it in a way that works for you.
If you have experience in indirect procurement and are keen to hear more, you can either apply via this advert or contact Joel at Distinct Recruitment.
We look forward to hearing from you!
