Right then, I’ve passed every exam going (whether that is ACA,ACCA or CIMA), I trained in the right firm (practice or large PLC) and now I want to flex my commercial muscles in a business partner role.
OK so maybe not word for word but if your train of thought has been around a move into less reporting and more business partnering this opportunity will come into it’s own.
THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Driving sales is critical in every successful, profitable business. There is a myriad of contributors to that final revenue number but one of the biggest controllable factors is the knowledge behind what is driving the sales performance and how to influence it to create more revenue. Given your background and training you are the type of person to make sense of the sales numbers, margin, performance etc but be able to translate it for your various stakeholders in order to make a real difference to increasing those numbers.
Skills attached to this will be absolute finesse in your communication both written & verbal, the ability to influence – getting around to your way of thinking is no mean feat and especially when it comes to sales teams will need to be on point. Making finance comprehensible for those that aren’t au fait with the mechanics will be the ace in your pack.
