OVERVIEW

As Quality and Technical Manager / Product Technologist you will be involved with all aspects of a products lifecycle, from development through to production, managing all quality and technical aspects.  This will involve working with the designers and development teams to ensure that potential faults are engineered out of the product.

Developing assembly instructions and specifying packaging & how the items are loaded. Taking control of the range for pre-production and first production to ensure smooth introductions in accordance with the critical path. You will also be responsible for monitoring the products and supplying factories quality, alongside the as part of a continuous improvement program.

The role will involve discussions with Buyers, Technologists and production staff through to Owners / Directors across Europe and therefore you will need to be a confident communicator (written and oral), calm and rational with good problem solving abilities.

 

THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor production quality, developing and implementing new systems for continuous improvement.
  • Undertake full quality inspections at European factories and suppliers.
  • Assist in the maintenance of diligence records on all suppliers.
    • Including but not limited to:
      • FR Records
      • Physical Performance Tests (Whole product and component)
    • Assist in the review of prototype models to engineer out potential faults and assess transport loading and packaging methods.
    • Build relationships within factories, tanneries and mills to enhance the business and ensure smooth production processes.
    • During factory visits, monitor and communicate production plans and performance to the UK office.
    • Assist in the installation of systems for third party factory audits.
    • Assist in customer service claim management in the UK, liaising with customers, retailers and third party companies.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Very high level of attention to detail.
  • Conscientious and hard working.
  • Good communicator with skill in communicating and managing people.
  • Full driving license.
  • Ability / availability to undertake frequent overseas travel.
