Are you an experienced purchase ledger supervisor looking for your next challenge? Are you wanting to take the lead in driving improvements and processes? This varied and challenging fix term contract offers a variety of responsibilities from managing a team of 5 to testing system changes and developing excellent relationships with suppliers and internal business contacts.



  • Test system changes and support the set-up of new vendors through our electronic invoicing system
  • Line manage 5 AP Clerks, taking responsibility for their development and appraisals and ensuring high levels of engagement across the team
  • Prepare payment runs and submit these for payment to meet supplier payment terms
  • Manage business targets
  • Develop excellent relationships with suppliers and internal business contacts to ensure any issues can be effectively managed
  • Identify and implement process improvements, including payment detail checks and supplier statement reconciliations
  • Support the implementation of new systems as required
  • Develop new and innovative reporting to highlight operational performance of the department as well as adherence to controls



  • Previous line management experience
  • Strong organisational skills, logical approach and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to work to deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated, resilient and able to demonstrate initiative
  • IT skills with strong knowledge of Excel including pivot tables and lookups
  • Positive, enthusiastic, keen to learn, pro-active, not afraid to challenge the status quo
  • Drive and determination, set priorities, meet deadlines and to see things through
