Picture yourself in Amsterdam, watching the awards ceremony you’ve been organising since it was just a list of idea’s you’d put together with a client on a piece of paper. At the end of the night you check your calendar and are reminded of next month’s project, a 3-day conference over in the USA. You’re over the moon because in your new role instead of worrying about sales or business development you get to use your true talent of organising the logistics of large corporate events. You no longer have to trawl through the suppliers or venues of every new location as your company has already made those connections for you.
You already know that organising large scale events internationally isn’t all glamour, it’s a 100% all or nothing vocation that will take you all around the world. You’ll be responsible for monitoring and tracking large budgets as well as making sure that the delegates have been communicated with correctly. You’ll be meticulously detail focused and take pride in each and every one of your projects because in this role your projects are yours and no one elses.
THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
As you look around at the senior people in the business you see that nearly all of them have been developed and promoted within the business, you start to seriously consider a long-term career within the business.
In your new role you’ll be taking complete ownership of projects with a large degree of autonomy, you’ll be assisted by several Event Executives but don’t worry you won’t have to do any 1 to 1’s or traditional line management.
